I'm kind of bumbling along here and working some things out for myself, but if you find this blog worth following, maybe you have something you'd like me to discuss in a relatively thorough manner?

It's a "help me, help you" kind of thing!
how do you display amazon ads in the sidebar on your site?

Actually, that's pretty simple.
First, you need an Amazon Associate account to get the code and credit for any sales made through your site:
https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/join/landing/main.html
From there you choose which widgets or style of link you want to post. Once chosen you can get the code to add to your sidebar.
Since I'm running an off-the-shelf Typepad template for this blog, I go to my Design dashboard, choose Content and cut and paste the code from Amazon into the Embed Your Own HTML option under Widgets.
Generally speaking, most blog systems now offer the ability to cut and paste html and javascript into your sidebar. So that's doable for options like Google Ads and all sorts of affiliate programs.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
